Stephen J. Nutting is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Creighton
University School of Law. After obtaining his juris doctorate in 1984 he
moved to Seattle, Washington where he practiced with a private firm which
contracted to do criminal defense work for King County Washington. He
spent almost five years gaining an abundance of trial experience trying
criminal cases in various courts in and around King County.
Areas of Expertise
In 1989 he took a position as an Assistant Attorney General for the
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands as a criminal prosecutor.
After one year he was offered a position with a private law firm on Saipan. A
year later he was made a partner in the firm which was renamed White,
Pierce, Mailman & Nutting. The firm disbanded in 2005 and he opened his
own office in the Marianas Business Plaza. He lives on Saipan with his wife,
Colleen and their three small boys. Mr. Nutting has a broad base of
experience as both a civil and criminal litigator dating back to 1984. He has
represented numerous corporate clients and individuals in many different
areas of the law and is ready to handle simple and complex litigation.
